1. What can a website do for me?

Similar to a home builder that offers pre built homes we can add your content to a ready made site with pre-set placement of text images and implementation of your logo. 3. Do I need to hire a designer local to me?
We create web sites for clients in Houston as well as out of our area. Utilizing the Internet, email and the telephone, and even screen sharing in some cases, it is possible to communicate effectively with clients in any location. Often a meeting isn't necessary and most of the work is generally completed via email and telephone communication.

5. Currently I am hosted with another web host provider and would like to switch. How do I do this?
We can recommend website hosting to you that we use. If you like you can consider this sites performance as model of what you will receive. We can transfer your domain name along with all of your existing web sites content (with your usernames , passwords and FTP addresses).

6. Can I use my own web hosting and still commission your design services ?
Yes. We would however, need access to your user control panel, FTP username & password. Depending on your needs we may also need to utilize certain server technologies such as MySQL or PHP for instance. If your current host does not support the required technology we can recommend web hosting that we trust and utilize for our own hosting needs.

7. What is a web host or web hosting?
A web host is an online service usually paid monthly, quarterly or yearly that allows you to point your domain name to its server (host computer). The domain name combined with hosting allows your site to be accessed on the internet. We recommend using our web hosting provider. This allows us to better service our customers design and maintenance needs.

8. What is web site maintenance or a web maintenance contract?
Web site maintenance is a fee paid monthly, quarterly or yearly to keep your site updated with new content provided by you. It can also include other services such as coding HTML, PHP, or CSS. New content can help keep visitors coming back to your site.

9. How long does it take for my site to get listed on Google, MSN, etc. ALSO: Why can't isn't my web site showing up in search engines?
After a web site or domain name (URL) has been submitted to search engines, it can take several weeks, or months to actually spider and list your web site in the directories organic listings. There are many variables depending on each search engines individual requirements. Each Search Engines has its own parameters and update schedule.

10. Information / Content - What Do I Put On My Site?
Depending on your web site goals and requirements, your website can include any information relative to your business needs. Typically a website will include information such as mission statements, product information, contact information, and biographical infromation. 13. What are the total costs regarding web design services?

Things that may change your design costs include: Changes to design concepts after they are signed off on. Adding additional pages, or functionality. Any changes to the scope or life-cycle of the project can be discussed and we determine with you per item any additional cost if necessary.

14. How do I update my website?
There are several types of websites which could affect how your site will / can be updated.

If your site is built utilizing a standard HTML file base then your site would only require typical page editing software or even a simple text editor if you are familiar with HTML/ CSS. FTP software could be beneficial.

If your site is built using a CMS (Content Management System) backend then you can often learn the CMS software and make simple text edits, image uploads / placement. this requires no special software since the edits can be done via your web browser (Internet Explorer, FireFx, Etc)

A flash or animated website typically requires the use of software such as Abobe Flash or Swish software. Due to technical needs of Flash including action scripting. It is probably best to the we maintain any Flash assets.

If you have a small website consisting of just a few pages and will only wish to make changes very infrequently, then usually it is more cost effective simply to ask Superstar Solutions to carry out these changes for you. Other methods which are frequently chosen are largely dependant upon how much data or information and pictures you have and how you store this information at present.

15. Do I have to use Superstar Solutions for any site maintenance or updates I wish to do once my website is designed?
No, once your website is designed it is yours to commission anyone to provide updates. We are happy to provide a maintenance contract for you however.

16. How do I check how many visitors I've had to my website?
Our recommended web host provides statistics as one of their services. The statistics can be traced back with several months or years of traffic history.

17. Do you provide redesign services for existing websites?

18.When my site finished can you provide web hosting ?
We have a recommended web host that utilizes Cpanel. CPanel provides many useful tools for a web master / web designer to utilize




19. What is HTML

CSS is another acronym that stands for Cascading Style Sheets. The name says it all. CSS allows you to style web pages more efficiently and effectively. Utilizing CSS may help reduce the size of a website, which may reduce wait times for your sites visitors

20. What is PHP
PHP stands for - Hypertext Preprocessor. It is an open source scripting / programming language that allows the development of dynamic webpages. Most application built using PHP run via a web-server. PHP is commonly used with relational database management systems RDMS such as MySQL.
